NorWest Community Church works together with Barnier Public School to bring fun and practical help to the students and teachers of the school.

the chatroom

In a busy, hectic world, everyone needs support to focus on the important things in life, one of these being, our families.

The Chatroom is an informal gathering of parents who want to encourage each other as they raise their children. Once a week parents get together over a cuppa and share strategies, ideas & resources to deal with the difficult job of bringing up their kids in this challenging society.

The Chatroom has discussions on depression, identifying a child's (and your own) personality style, developing realistic boundaries and identifying the way your child wants to be shown love. Plus many more challenging topics.

The Chatroom meets every Tuesday in the Barnier Staff Room, just after the kids are dropped off at 9am.

Come and join in this positive parenting network.

kidzone

Kidzone is a programme that runs in the Barnier School hall at lunchtime each Monday for Barnier children in Years 3-6. The aim is to introduce the kids to Jesus Christ in a real & relevant way. The children are taught from the bible about peer pressure, goals, priorities, dealing with conflict and the importance of knowing & depending on God through life.

This year we have averaged around 30-35 children per week. They come for the games, singing, stories and activities. Each year 3 student is given their own copy of the Bible to take home.

christmas in the cola
